Project Description

Provincial Nominee Programs

The Provincial Nominee Program offers pathways which allows for individuals to settle in Canada permanently through the provinces. This program exists because different provinces and territories have different needs and aims. It is possible for one province to need people with a particular skill while other provinces do not. It is also possible that one province may want to attract more students, or more businessmen than the federal government thinks are needed at a national level. In all such cases the territory or province can nominate someone for immigration.

Each Canadian province and Territory offers its’ own unique program. Each Provincial Nominee Program has at least one stream that is parallel with the Express Entry immigration selection system.

How to Apply

In order to be considered for the provincial nominee program, you need to be nominated by a province. The first thing you need to do is look at the ‘immigration streams’ of different provinces available on the respective websites of the provincial governments. Here you will be able to see what skills are required in that province. If you find a province which requires people with the skills or the lifestyle that you have, then you may be eligible.
